Week Six: Software Practice Photoshop - Portfolio Concept
Today we are creating our portfolio introduction page with the concept of my project in Photoshop. I will begin by creating a blank canvas to work on. I did this by starting my Photoshop, clicked in a new file, and then opened a dialog box. In this box I clicked on 'Print' on the top menu, and chose 'A3'. I then confirmed the resolution was 300ppi, which creating a high quality resolution. I then chose the orientation as portrait as I am doing photography, and my photos would be in portrait. I then chose a custom background colour of white, fitting the style of my webpage.
I then added an image from my desktop. By clicking on the File and then Open, I then went to Select in the top menu and then Select ALL and then I went to edit in the top menu and then copy. I then clicked back onto my canvas tab and clicked on Edit and Paste. After that I clicked on the Move Tool at the top left hand menu and clicked on Show transform controls in the top menu. I then could move and enlarge image so that it worked on the page.
I then added my title and my name, I clicked on the Text Button in the left hand menu, and then I clicked into the canvas. I then changed the font by clicking into fonts in the top menu. I used Californian FB for the text and I used 30pts and 24pts for the title and the name respectively.
I then created a logo of freelogodesign.org and used the brand name Thomas Shum Photography. I clicked Open and then I repeated the steps I took for adding the image.
Lastly, I used the text tool to add the introduction. Then I clicked onto the canvas and changed the font size to 21.05pts.
