Week Six: Further Research - Michael Wolf

For this project, one of the photographers that I will be looking into would be Michael Wolff (1954-2019). According to his biography, he was born in Germany, and he moved to Hong Kong in 1994. His photos focus on architecture and megapolis. Below was a photo taken by him in Hong Kong, named Corner 4, which was posted on his website. It was a photo of a corner house in To Kwa Wan, the area where I was living before I moved to the UK. He used portrait for the shot, and probably he was shooting with film as we can see that there were grains in the photo, and also in the mid-90s digital cameras were not very popular. He used the rule of third for this shot, as the building with three different colours occupied the three parts of the frame evenly. This photo strongly demonstrated the environment of the local Hong Kong people were living.

  1. This is not further research as there are no references whatsoever! You need to really consider the image and look at what others have said and actually research this...
