Week Six: Website Research - Aero Media & The Falkenburgs

 As I am creating my own Art Photography website I will look at two photographers websites whose work I am interested, Aero Media and the Falkenburg.  Here I am analysing the website itself, and how the work of the artists is displayed and how easy and functional the website is for the user.

I will begin with Aero Media. I will first talk about the homepage, which is clear that the company is doing aviation photography. It had 5 different photos on the frontpage, which indicates to 5 different services or catalogues, including 'Commercial Jet Aviation Photography', 'new or refurbished' (cabin shot), 'Aircraft images for brokers' (product shot), 'Charter Aviation Photography' and 'Aviation and Private Jet Photographer'. It also have it's logo on the left top corner, while the right top corner have a task bar, featuring 'home', 'services', 'portfolio', 'cost sharing', 'contact' and 'blog'. And at the bottom, it has it copyright information and social media links. 



One interesting feature is that it has a extra extension that it gives extra pages information when the pointer is at the Portfolio.



Different categories of photography were well-organised in different pages, which helps people to look for his work more easily.

In each of the portfolio, information such as time on site and expected numbers of images returned were clearly listed, which also helps the potential customers to have a clear messages whether the shooting information satisfy their requirements or not.

It provides the photographer's contact on the bottom of the page, including the phone number, email address, as well as social media links.

The next website I will be looking into would be another website, the Falkenburg, which is a wedding photography company.

It first started with some of their works of different couples during their weddings. When I scrolled down the page, it used different pictures to define different parts of the topic, which is as shown on the top bar of the page.

There is also social links in the bottom of the page, such as Instagram and Pinterest.

In Portfolio, it separates the photo album into 4 different category, 'All', 'Portrait', 'Analogue' and 'Party', showing which genre that the customers can choose for. 




Their about page is also interesting, as they have very attractive page and self-introduction of operating a business by the couple.




In the contact page, probably they wanted to be contacted by the potential customers who is truly interested in their works or to understand more of their potential customers, their contact page is full of details on questions of inquires for the betrothed couples.


Overall, the two different websites has their own styles of displaying their works. They both have lots of examples for their own potential customers to reference, and the UX of both websites are very clear and simple to use, in which users would have a good using experience.
