Class Practice: Above and Below
Today we went to do a tasked shooting called 'Above and Below'. It was to practice taking high and low angle portraits and to practice the settings on the camera. The settings that we have practiced were aperture (f/ stops), ISO and exposure compensation.
We went out on campus with a partner to take some portrait images and it turns out that I do not have a specific partner as I shoot nearly everyone in class for my own practice.
As what we did last term, we have to make a contact sheet after we returned from our shooting. The process of making contact sheet was to open Photoshop, then select 'Files', choose 'Automate' and then 'Contactsheet II'. Since I did not take a lot of photographs, Photoshop generated only 2 pages of contact sheet automatically.
This is one of the favourite shots and I will have a look onto the EXIF data.
1/2000s, f/4, ISO-200, EV -1.0
As we were asked to use A Mode, or the Aperture Priority Mode (AV Mode), the shutter speed was determined by the camera itself in order to balance the exposure. I chose to use ISO 200 in order to have a balance between daylight situation and having the best dynamic range. I used f/4 (the greatest I could have on my lens) to create the depth of field. I want to make a bit underexposed with the sunlight at the background so the exposure compensation was used with EV -1.0. No flash light was used in this case.
It was my first time using A mode, or the Aperture Priority mode, the shutter speed will change according to the environment automatically. Before that I was using manual mode, and I have to adjust my settings by myself for most of the time. It definitely helps me to know more about the shutter speed setting as I can check the shutter speed while shooting, and adjust the exposure with the exposure compensation. Also, I get to know the techniques of low and high angles, as they might help me with creating different perspectives while my own creation of work.

This post needs completing with further commentary and a final outcome - also where are your other two posts - Object Lesson and Welcome Message?
